Places to Eat Out

When deciding where to go for a meal on a night out the place can be as important as the food. The recommendations here reflect the fact that we like good food and village pubs. New Places will be added as and when we think they deserve merit

Browns Pie Shop
Browns Pie Shop is in the historic part of Lincoln on Steep Hill just a little way down from Castle Square. It is not a village pub but the food was so good I had to include it in these pages. You will need to book this restaurant can even be full on a Monday

The Farmers Arms, Welton Hill
About 8 miles north of Lincoln on the A46 Now into its 6th year the Farmers Arms was accredited in the 2001/2002 'Campaign for Real Food' and it has won other awards.
We returned to the Farmers in March 03 and although the food was very good and the menu imaginative, the vegetables were a little sparse. They may also have been short staffed on the night we were there but the service was a little slow.

The Dambusters, Scampton Village
6 miles north of Lincoln on the B1398

The Big Wok
Chinese Restaurant. Eat as much as you like for around £8.00 (I think). There are many dishes to choose from( in excess of 30) and the food is good. It's good value but a bit like a canteen.
Beaumont Fee, Lincoln. 01522 513818
